The makeshift shield made from a trireme’s hull groaned with each blocked blow. Black ambrosia spilled left and right, scorching flesh, wood and iron with equal ease. Each flap of the gargantuan moth-like wings sent a hurricane wave of debris, sweeping the Titan from its feet and hurling dozens of sailors overboard. No chance in Hades Circegard could win. 

Yet she wouldn’t stay down. Each time she got back up, there was less and less of the titan. Eventually, a bruised, bloodied wretch was all that remained, barely able to hold the shield with both hands. But that was enough. Circegard bought the council enough time to Bring Back the rest of the first ones. It took the three of them to stave of the monstrous creature long enough for the Argo to make its escape.
